Staten Island Ferry and thereabouts

Spent the weekend showing the wife around New York City. The weather was cold, but at least it was not raining - and none of that funny "wintry mix" forecasts.
Staten Island Ferry provided the necessary view of the Statue of Liberty - 6 years in this country, and I have not seen it in any other way. Unlike other times, though, the bitter cold wind on the ferry deck forced us to look for other viewing areas, and we reached the lower level of the ferry - never knew there was a third level to these ferries. The deck there was very close to the water, and I have never had a better realization of the speed of the ferry.
Sunday was spent around the upper west side - starting from a visit to the interesting "Journey" church at 72nd and B'way, to a brief halt at Kanishka's place, to a long trip to the museum of Natural History.
